St. Louis, Missouri

Off to a continuing education course for me, we went! We decided to make the trip full of "vacation" too!

The weather was beautiful, with a smooth flowing Mississippi River with a statue of Lewis & Clark and their dog along the shore and permanently docked Casino boats in view! $Cha-Ching$ No gambling for us this trip!
We went inside the Gateway Arch "Gateway to the West" - 630 ft high. It's a crazy experience; crammed in a little "Nanu-Nanu" egg, like on Mork and Mindy on a 4 minute trip up! Ugg. But pretty incredible. The space at the very top where we took aerial shots was only 7 feet across!

We stayed at an old hotel at the old Union Station (At one time the largest, most sophisticated and beautiful train station - primarily during WWI). There was lots to do there.

We took the new subway line, MetroLink, to a beautiful park and went to the Zagat's-rated "#1 Zoo" in the nation...and FREE admission!

This is a photo of the gateway arch along the Mississippi River taken from the plane. Our trip was packed with good times but we were happy to be back home :)
