Florida trip with the Family

This was the longest car trip for Gus and Maggie thus far AND they got to travel to 2 states that they have never been to before (Georgia and Florida)!
I've never seen Gus SO Happy to jump in water! This would have been a 24-hour event if we didn't feed him! Maggie liked to cool off too and water isn't usually "her thing!"

We were on vacation for a week and it was still WAY TOO SHORT!!

Dad and Gail met Chris and I in Fernandina and stayed with us and Chris' parents for 3 days - We had a super time and did SO much in the day! Relaxing in the evening in rockers on the porch was just the highlight!

Chris gave us a tour of Amelia Island - so we went around nice resorts, along the "strip" and to the Sunken Forest!

We went to Fernandina's 45th Annual Shrimp Festival - which has been full of people and so much fun for 2 consecutive years with artists of all types and antique vendor/booths all over downtown. We went out for fabulous dining experiences, watched Cival War re-enactments of Fort Clinch and the rest of the time, we hung out at the McCarthy's beautiful homeplace with their new milk goats (Emma and Gracie)!

The McCarthy Bees!

UPDATE FROM EARLIER BLOG:
Well, if you've listened to the news, you might have heard that a week after Chris and I went into the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, the "nanu nanu" shuttles broke down for several hours leaving people stranded at the top, without A/C and quite panicked. Uggg - weird feeling to know we were just there.

NOW, what's buzzing here? The McCarthy Bees in Florida are still churning some GREAT honey. These bees were getting too hot in the hive, so they decided to climb out of there!

This is the sweetest kitty kitty - She can't hear a lick, but she's SO sweet.
